# 33  Dead Things (Eric Carter #1) by Stephen Blackmoore

Ok, ich hab keine Ahnung, wer der erste war, aber langsam fühlt sich manche Urban Fantasy arg wiederholend an. Wieder ein fies harter Magier-Protagonist der dauernd auf die Schnauze kriegt aber am Ende gewinnt und überhaupt total die mächtige Socke ist. Dieses Mal ist es halt ein Nekromant, ok. Es fühlt sich einfach nicht mehr neu an. Da hilft dann auch nicht, dass...

(Klicke zum Anzeigen/Verstecken)...der "seine Seele verkaufen für Power" Plot nicht bei Dresden zumindest mehr als 10 Bücher dauert, sondern gleich im Buch eins abgefrühstückt wird.
Komischerweise fühlte sich die Darstellung von Santa Muerte leicht respektlos an, was ironisch ist, weil ich z.B. bei "Gott" in Preacher, keine Probleme hatte (persönlicher Bias wohl).

Insgesamt jetzt als Buch an sich nicht "schlecht" in dem Sinne, aber auch nix, was man braucht, wenn man schon Dresden, Atticus, Alex Verus, Peter Grant und Sandman Slim hinter sich hat - und wenn man noch nichts davon hatte, würde ich pers. eher zu Harry Dresden raten - außer man braucht nen schnellen Einstieg, dann geht es hier deutlich schneller ab als bei jenem, der braucht deutlich mehr Bände. Andererseits, wenn man Urban Fantasy süchtig ist, ist das sicher solide, wenn auch nicht herausstechende Kost.

Uff - ich hab es aufgegeben.
Ich finde das Settting und die Prämissen der Bücher super interessant. Aber die Hauptcharaktere holen mich so gar nicht ab. Leider werden die wirklich interessanten Nebenfiguren immer nur angerissen, da man nicht zu weit von den Hauptfiguren abweichen soll... -.-
Vielleicht bin ich mittlerweile einfach zu alt für das "oohhh xx" - "oohhh yy" Gedöns. In anderer YA-Mädchen-Fantasy stört es mich nicht so sehr wie hier (Göttlich-Trilogie, Edelstein-Trilogie nur als Beispiele). Zudem stört mich auch der zeitliche Rahmen zwischen Band 1-3 und Band 4. Bände 5 und 6 habe ich aktuell nicht zu Hause und bin schwer am überlegen, ob ich sie mir überhaupt antue, nachdem bei Band 4 die Augen gar nicht mehr au sdem Rollen rauskamen (war für mich echt schwer zu lesen)
Twilight hat schon seine Berechtigung - aber war damals schon einfach nicht meins und Mortal Instruments schlägt stark in dieselbe Kerbe.

Ein Buch, auf das ich durch die Tanelorn Reading Challenges gestoßen bin.
Auch hier mag ich die Prämisse sehr und bin nach dem Ende mit den vielen Fragezeichen und Lösungen durchaus versönt, da ich mich tatsächlich auf das nächste Buch freue. Dennoch war das Buch manchmal ein wenig zu ... wenig? over the top? offensichtlich? ex machina? Kann es nicht genau einordnen. Wäre es alleinstehend, würde ich es schlechter bewerten.

Falls es dich tröstet: Ich wollte das Buch auch wirklich mögen, war dann aber doch eher underwhelmed und habe Band 2 gar nicht mehr in die Hand genommen.

Niniane:
Ich hab Band 2 gelesen, weil ich dachte, vielleicht wird es ja besser und ich wollte Irene auch als toughe Hauptdarstellerin sehen und mögen. Ich hab mich durch das Buch durchgequält, es war furchtbar lang und langatmig, und ich werde vor allen Dingen mit Irene nicht warm.

Da sieht man, wie sich Geschmäcker unterscheiden, ich fand sie recht gut lesbar und hab erst Ende letzten Jahres den letzten Teil durchgelesen, für mich insgesamt durchaus ne gute Serie.
