Eclipse Phase
Mr. Ohnesorge:
Sorry, mein Fehler.

--- Zitat ---As mentioned in the introduction, Transhumanity's Fate holds to a particular tone: techno-thriller action and
espionage, with a bit of transhuman horror on the side. The rules in this chapter play to Fate's strengths: keeping the
action quick and loose, and erring on the side of larger-than-life characters than going for gritty realism.

--- Zitat ---What this means is that any spies that have
infiltrated Firewall—and there are plenty: Jovian,
Consortium, ultimate, exhuman—are compartmentalized.
They only have access to what their particular
cell or server knows (and the “declassified” stuff
shared via the Eye). Exsurgent infection, corruption,
and abuse of power spread through the organization
slowly, as contact with other servers is limited.
If one cell is exposed, the others remain safe.

--- Zitat ---To summarize, Firewall fills in the gaps that no
security agency can cover because of limitations
inherent to their structure. We act on imperfect information
handled by overworked and under-appreciated
analysts.
--- Ende Zitat ---
Oder direkter:
--- Zitat ---You must be curious. Maybe you’ve
got a vigilante streak and you’re
looking to spill blood for a good
cause. Would it matter to you if the
cause was a deluded one? Maybe
you’re a conspiracy wingnut and
you’re dying to know what secrets
Firewall is clutching to its collective
chest. What if those secrets shattered
the carefully constructed lies
that we all tell to ourselves to keep
our sanity intact?
[...]
Truth is, Firewall is lots of things.
Most of it is good, but a lot of it
so fucking horrible you’ll be thinking
about planting a bullet in your
stack and resorting to an earlier
backup just so you can forget it all.
If you have any romantic visions
about being a hero, drop them now.
[...]
I’ll tell you why. The universe
is not fucking fair. If transhumanity
were wiped out, the galaxy
wouldn’t even notice. Just look at
the Earth. That planet still exists,
still supports life, even though
we’re far gone. Reality is an uncaring
asshole. Forget all that utopian
crap about living forever. We’ll be
lucky to survive another year.

Adam Scott Glancy über die Idee zu Delta Green:
--- Zitat ---Delta Green is - as best I can explain it - not an agency. When we came up with Delta Green the idea was, we wanted to make it just as desperate and horrible as when you guys were private citizens. It doesn't get any better because you have a government job and you know about the mythos.
--- Ende Zitat ---
--- Zitat ---Not to say, I don't like Eclipse Phase anymore, far from it! I think it succeeds very well in portraying political sects and ideologies in a post-scarcity and post-human environment. I just prefer games where the thought going in isn't,
"Proxy: Attention Firewall Sentinels! The TITANs return is inevitable.
Us: Oh shit! Arm up guys! What's the plan?
Proxy: There is none.
Us: . . . . . ."
