Dazu zur besseren Illustration einige Elemente aus SageGenesis' Kampagne, die - wie die präsentierten Kung-Fu-Stile - nicht im Buch auftauchen. Eine magische Waffe:
--- Zitat ---The Most Excellent Shining Edge
A heartless smith once was told there was another smith even more skilled than he, so he sought to create his ultimate masterpiece to prove his superiority over this rival. He sacrificed many young lives to construct it. Some people he killed so that he could grind the weapon’s edge with the curses spoken with their dying breath. Others he slew to test the effectiveness of his project. Much toil and much spilling of blood later, he had held up his finest weapon yet: a large gleaming axe shaped like a hawk in flight. His joy was short-lived: the weapon wrested free from his grasp and fell down, striking him in the neck and slaying him. This weapon tolerates only utmost excellence - and it knew that the rival smith was greater still.
Baseline weapon: massive
Fate: test the strength of others and destroy those found wanting
Glory:
5: +5 Strike
20: Brute Force: Channel 3 chi for a +5 Strike bonus and a +10 Damage bonus
25: +5 Speed
30: +5 Block
50: Severing Limbs: If The Most Excellent Shining Edge ever inflicts a Major wound condition you may choose to sever a limb. This functions similarly to disabling a limb normally through injury except that it can’t be cured without surgery and a Medicine check of at least Fantastic (60) difficulty.

Dazu einige Auführungen:
(Klicke zum Anzeigen/Verstecken)You'll have to forgive the crummy prose, this was just a proof of concept weapon I used to illustrate how the system works.
Now for some system notes.
Massive weapons are those with a heavy head upon a handle, such as hammers and axes. The base stats for a Massive weapon are these:
* +5 Damage
* If an attack with a Massive weapon is described in such a way that it is best Dodged instead of Blocked, the penalty to Block is -10 instead of -5.
* You may Flood one die from the River while you make the attack to ignore the target’s armor on any resulting Rippling roll.
Basically, massive weapons are pure destruction. They tear through any defenses trying to stop them.
So if you obtain The Most Excellent Shining Edge you have a Massive weapon. No more, no less. Have fun with it. But then you start picking fights with strangers and leave them crippled, destroying gangs just to see if you can, posing impossible riddles to so-called wise men (with them staking their necks upon their reputation), and generally making a complete asshole out of yourself. And then the weapon slowly but surely upgrades as it keeps gaining "glory" points and realizes its true potential. Fully upgraded your stats would be:
* +5 Speed
* +5 Strike
* +5 Block
* +5 Damage
* If an attack with The Most Excellent Shining Edge is described in such a way that it is best Dodged instead of Blocked, the penalty to Block is -10 instead of -5.
* You may Flood one die from the River while you make the attack to ignore the target’s armor on any resulting Rippling roll.
* Brute Force: Channel 3 chi for a +5 Strike bonus and a +10 Damage bonus
* Severing Limbs: If The Most Excellent Shining Edge ever inflicts a Major wound condition you may choose to sever a limb. This functions similarly to disabling a limb normally through injury except that it can’t be cured without surgery and a Medicine check of at least Fantastic (60) difficulty.
Of course, by this time you've made a lot of enemies...

Auf "Wunsch" eines einzelnen Gespannten hat Arik einen internen Stil mit interessantem Namen entwickelt.
--- Zitat ---Heart’s Gelatinous Envy[/SIZE]
A brilliant master, equal parts skilled physician and insightful negotiator, noted that doubt and insecurity are just as much a danger in combat as fear and pain. Jealousy holds a grip on the heart that is both hard and yielding, easy to move but hard to crush. This style uses chi to draw forth the user’s inner light, showing his splendor and weakening his enemies through their own hearts.
Basic Technique:
1: Stirring the Heart's Jelly
Before anybody can grow envious of you, you must first become superior.
* You have a +5 bonus to Confidence.
Advanced Techniques:
2: Empty Rice Bowl
Lesser men are like grains of rice; Small, powerless and unworthy of individual attention.
* Your attack counts as an Area Attack for the purposes of harming groups of Minions.
2: Hardening of the Gelatin
If others are soft, then you must be strong.
* You have a +10 bonus to Toughness
2: Jade-Eyed Monstrosity
You may encounter people who have qualities that you lack. This is unacceptable in the eyes of Heaven, but more importantly in the eyes of you! Sarcastically you thank them for the pointer and make their strength your own.
* At the start of the round choose a person you can see fighting. For the rest of the round your style Laughs At one thing that person’s style also Laughs At.
2: Yielding Heart
Confronted with your glory, the resolve of your enemies grows weak.
* Block or Dodge rolls against this attack suffer a -5 penalty.
3: Expansive Gelatinous Shaping
A common wisdom holds that water shapes itself to fit the container that holds it. If this is so, then you must become the container that holds the strength of your enemies. Squelch their power with their own insecurities!
* All opponents Fear your style this round.
3: Moon Envies Sun
Your supremacy is so radiant and obvious, that anybody who can match is likened to an eclipse; very rare, very unusual, and very temporary.
* You have a +15 bonus to Confidence.
3: Ungraspable Jelly Quality
The envious feelings of your enemies are made only stronger when they see your perfectly flowing movements. Your motion and their envy combine into a state of irresistibility, to act without opposition!
* Any check made to break one of your Waves this round suffers a -10 penalty.
4: Highest State of Resentment
You show you enemies the futility of their actions. This is not an act of disrespect, it’s simply the natural order of things.
* For the entire round you have a +10 bonus to any check made to avoid or resist harm, such as Block, Dodge, Chi Aura, or skill checks made to oppose the use of Secret Arts.
4: Racing Semi-Liquid Form
Jelly combines the greatest qualities of solid and liquid states. You are swift as the river and heavy as the mountains. A grand force that others must respectfully wait for!
* You have a +20 bonus to Speed.
5: Heaven’s Mandate
Even the gods and demons would envy you, if they didn’t already love you so much. When you are near, the skills of the mundane earthly people are without mention!
* This entire round you may ignore the effects of your enemies’ Joss expenditure – their Lake pools aren’t increased nor is yours reduced when your rolls oppose.
* This entire round enemies can’t Flow dice from their River into a roll that is opposed by you.
