Und das überrascht Dich? Das MMO Projekt ist gerade gestorben, CCP hat also eine Lizenz, die sie u.U. veräußern wollen (bzw. die mit Null-Anstrengung seitens CCP Geld generieren soll/kann).
Ein Wert der Lizenz liegt in der Lizenzierung von Übersetzungen. Wenn also jemand eine Fan-Übersetzung macht, dann macht es die Lizenz unattraktiver. Noch dazu kann das als Fall gewertet werden, in dem CCP sein Copyright nicht aktiv verteidigt. Das hätte u.U. die Konsequenz, das Copyright zu verlieren.

Es war ein kostenlose Vorlage und eine kostenlose Produktion und Weitergabe stellen dort normalerweise kein Problem da.
Sie räumen schließlich ein das sie durchaus eine "academic/not for profit type" licence vergeben könnten, eine die ggf. nicht exklusiv ist, wohl auch für ein einzelnes Produkt. Dennoch machen sie es einfach nicht.

Huhn:
Schade. Aber letzendlich schießen sich sich erstmal selbst ins Knie, weil das Nichtvorhandensein einer deutschen Übersetzung das Teil in Deutschland definitiv auf einen Nischenplatz verdammt.
