DW-artige Fronten für D&D

Sachen aus DW nach D&D zu übertragen find ich toll, hab ich gerade in der 4E recht viel gemacht und fand es gibt da eine Menge Synergien. Das sollte auch in der 5E gut klappen. Du könntest das ganze als "Quasi-Skillchallenge" zwischen den anderen Konflikten einstreuen. Nach dem Motto: Immer wenn sie daran scheitern eine bestimmte Aufgabe zu erledigen rückt die Front etwas vor.

Herzog Kunibert zu überreden gegen die Orks vorzugehen kann deren Vorrücken halt etwas aufhalten. Und wenn es nicht gelingt nutzen diese die Abwesenheit auch sogleich aus.

Funktioniert natürlich besser wenn du schon für derartige Dinge Regelmechaniken etabliert hast, aber im Zweifel kann man sich da auch etwas neu zusammen bauen oder eben aus den Vorgängereditionen klauen.

Mal als Beispiel, hier was ich mir bislang so aufgeschrieben habe - in diesem Fall eine Gefahr für die Front.

The Volcano Awakens
[_] A slight and subtle tremor shakes the ground underneath the adventurers’ feet
[_] The adventurers observe smoke emerging from the massive volcano’s crater in the middle of the island.
[_] In the middle of the next combat encounter, the ground starts to shake vigorously. Every combatant must succeed at a DC 14 Dexterity saving throw or be knocked prone.
[_] The rotten stench of Sulphur pervades the air. It is intensifying by the hour and also as the adventurers come closer to the volcano.
[_] Animals flee down the slopes of the volcano: Flocks of birds, herds of rock antelopes followed by a pride of mountain lions. A DC 12 Intelligence (Nature) check reveals that these animals are native to higher elevations and that encountering them here is most uncommon.
[_] A violent earthquake shakes the ground. The PCs must succeed at a DC 16 Dexterity saving throw or fall prone. If they are underground or near a cliff, they also suffer 3d6 points of bludg-eoning damage from rockfall (or half as much if the saving throw is successful).
