Nein?

Da, faszinierende News vom Projekt (imho eher Unfall):
--- Zitat ---MYTHIC TRUTH
Every game needs a core mythic truth, and for months I have been feeling that while IAZ has a great story, an amazing background, and a cool, hip and very unique setting, that it was missing something mythological… Something about context and meaning that I couldn’t quite put my finger on. It was extremely frustrating and bit demoralizing. It was so close to being brilliant yet still not quite there, and I couldn't figure out what was wrong.
Now I think I might have figured it out what it was. Let me explain
Early on in the design process I kept getting warned, “Don’t make the game too much like Vampire". "Let them be Zombies". "Let it be a mindless virus". "Don’t make them into Clans.” Because I have a fixation on always being creative and to never repeat myself I bought into the advice for the most part. But I’ve slowly come to believe that this approach has made the game a bit soulless. A great world needs a lot of myth in a setting, and if you base a game purely on medical tropes, there isn’t going to be a whole lot of myth. I personally need to feel as if a world is based on human values… not medical, scientific or abstract concepts.
Thus I’ve come up with a new approach to the setting that makes it less classic Zombie and more “new” Zombie. This is not the final word, this are just a few ideas I've been playing around with.
Let me explain.
First of all they aren't called Strains anymore (an abstract medical term) they're now called Broods, and I'm pushing them smack into the center of the setting. They are VERY social and key to all the core myths and power politics. Since I basically invented the concept of Clans in RPG's (character classes that are more social than practical) I have absolutely no problem using it in this setting - with a twist - even though so many other games have borrowed the concept as well. If I can't who can?
The various Broods all worship the same unknown and unseen god, the terrifying USHBA, but each of them also has their own God, an enormous Utukku (Carrion Fiend), and each maintains a huge but secret Necropolis, dedicated to its protection and worship.
These Primordial 9 Utukku are a combination of Cthulhu old ones, Vampire Antideluvians & fantasy Gods/Demons. Each continent has a Utukku and it is said that one day they will all rise up and battle each other for supremacy and then that the world will finally be destroyed and all of the Toxic will be released from their bondage.
New Terms
• Brood - New name for a Strain/Clan/Tribe. I have renamed the Broods, so we will no longer have just 4 names (with Neo version) we have 8 names: Abaddon-Yshbara, Xzavier-Lascar, Kreiger-Lascivia, Demikov-Jakamak.
• Suckling – A newly created Tox. You can change the brood of a Suckling by feeding them enough of the flesh of another Brood. (Broodling?)
• Provenant - The one you feed on, who now has power and control over you. If you feed on another without their permission, they feel as if you have betrayed them.
• Thrall - The one who has fed from a Provenant, most people are slaves.
• Chronicon - The ancient books
• Utukku - Another, older, name for Carrion Fiends
One of the things I loved the most about Vampire was the concept of generations, and one of the biggest mistakes of Requiem was taking it out. It was an abstract way to indicate VAST degrees of difference in power, but it wasn’t an experience point ladder, it was more ethereal and abstract. Sure if you want to power game you could climb it, but as you did so you would be bringing a shit storm down on top of you.
For IAZ I was to create a similar ladder of power, but in a new way. Not sure how it will work yet, but here is one idea:
When you eat the flesh of one who has eat from the Progenitor, you will rise up in essential power. You will slowly become more and invulnerable and your Vector will manifest in increasingly vital ways. These are called Genasai, the closer you are to the original, the Godhead, the most essential power you have in your flesh, the more Zombie (and Odium) you are.
However there many many subgroups, splinters, minor and major families. The family tree is extremely complicated, made more so by the fact that if you feed from multiple Provenants you can evolve your own Strain into something entirely new, which then requires it own new branch of the family tree. In general the more of the Progenitor you have in you, the more powerful you are. This is defined by used of Factions. from 1/100 to 99/100… or for short, the 99 is the most powerful non-Utukku Toxic in the world.
Purgis will now become, by its end each month, an orgy of Toxic feeding on each other. It is literally a cannibalistic feast in which only a very few can hold themselves back from. After you have fed from your Provenant (Master), then you are allowed to feed, to a lesser extent, from others. It is in this way that new Strains (sub-Broods) are created/evolved.

Aber das mach eh nix:
--- Zitat ---Since the IAZ book is going to be written First Person (by Toxics for Toxics) and since their will be NO other source material other than game rules... then ALL details and information can be wrong. Which is exactly as it should be IMO

Interessante Schlussfolgerung!
Beim Teil mit "If I can't who can?" musste ich schmunzeln. :D Liebster Mark. Du musst dich nicht für die Verwendung von Clans rechtfertigen. Have fun.

"Every game needs" ist eine so allgemeine Aussage, das man damit fast immer falsch liegt denke ich.
Das ganze was er da abzieht ist einfach mal unter aller sau.
Andy Kitowski:
--- Zitat ---TIMELINE:
So he had this innovative idea (re card character sheets, coins, flipping them over, etc).
Mind you, his previous board game campaign (Democracy) is still not delivered, but that didn't stop the Idea Train.
He spam-blasted the world to back it. He raged and ridiculed at least one community I'm a member of when they called him on his spammy shilling, and his overtly sexist art. But he doubled down ("My friend is a girl and she doesn't see a problem"; "This game is super unique and innovative" etc).
The project looked to be faltering, so he guilt-fucked his audience into backing it ("If this doesn't get funded I'll leave game design forever").
He funded.
Then, he split.
The original website promoting the game is no longer up ( http://www.makebelievegames.net/ ).
He hasn't communicated with his backers on IAZ in seven months, shortly after the check cleared.
He's been doing updates outside the project... somewhere? Livejournal? He is not posting anything to the backers. And he's not posting to the G+ community he created and spammed the world about.
* In that time, his super innovative idea didn't catch on with some people who play Pathfinder, so he decided to turn it into a d20 game.
* More recently, he had another revelation, this time to turn the game into Thing: The Thingening. Maybe it'll now become a d10 diepool game?
Note, none of the two updates above have been relayed to any of the backers. He's been staying well clear of his campaign since the check cleared.
He recently hired a nice person named Milton to be burned as an effigy, basically by placating and helping the flaming turd of a Kickstarter for Democracy. Milton posts, people barely suppress rage that MRH hasn't done shit (his last update, 4 months ago, was "chill the fuck out, the game is on its way!")
He then was a guest of honor at Fastival 2014, where he:
* Gave a presentation on how to successfully crowdfund a game
* Presented a demo of a third New Game, called "HAVOC". It will be spectacular when the campaign for this one goes up. I suspect he'll have to use IndieGoGo, with that option that lets you take the money and run if the goal isn't met...
http://www.fastaval.dk/activities-2/guest-of-honor/?lang=en
The order of the last few events is a little off, but they all happened in about the same month period (updates to backers who happen to also be viewing Livejournal, Milton, Fastival, etc)
