am besten wenn du nicht die standard oggdude DB benutzt (die hat nur Verweise aufs Buch) sondern einen der tatsächliche Regeltexte enthält. z.b. https://github.com/nlx3647/dataset

Den SW Adversaries import aus dem Getting started guide kann ich auch empfehlen.

Jetzt muß ich noch ein Weg finden, die nicht über das Gesamtpaket importierten XML (Hooks usw.) einzubinden, dann ist alles joffi toffi.

Ich bin nun fast mit allen Charakteren für Star Wars durch. Ich danke dir sehr herzlich für diesen wichtigen Hinweis und die Links. Ich hatte die Datenbank sogar noch im Ordner, hatte sie aber ganz vergessen. So kann ich die Kampagne bis heute Abend übertragen und mich von Roll20 als Abonnent verabschieden.

Wie JS vs. Roll20 ist vorbei, ich hatte auf einen zweiten Staffel gehofft ;-). Nein, mal im Ernst ohne diese Strang hier wäre ich erst mal nicht auf FVTT gekommen und ich entdecke fast täglich neue cool Optionen.

Es geschah aus schierer Verzweifelung heraus, aber gern geschehen.
Ich möchte es jedoch präzisieren: JS & Friends vs. Roll20-Performance. Mit Roll20 selbst hatte ich ja nie Probleme.
Aber mit Foundry inkl. Forge sind bisher alle mir bekannten SL und Spieler/innen höchst zufrieden.

Ich hab mich etwas in die freie Version von roll20 rein gearbeitet.
Ich leite zur Zeit eine DnD Runde und eine Star Wars Runde. Die werden Wohl auch online bleiben. Star Wars würde ich gerne wegen der Informationssammlung auf einem vtt verwalten. Bei DnD nervt mich das händische entfernen des fog of war.
Daher ist die Frage ob ich auf foundry gehe oder bei roll 20 ein Abo abschließe?
Ich denke, bin kein Computerspezi, sondern ein User, das ich nen Server brauche, also wäre es preislich erstmal ähnlich.
Wie viel Aufwand ist das aufbauen des Spieles, gerade bei Star Wars?
Bei DnD kann ich von DnD beyond ja rüberziehen.

Bei DnD kann ich von DnD beyond ja rüberziehen.

Kostentechnisch ist es vergleichbar wenn du einen bezahlten Server bei foundry nimmst (ich hoste drei Instanzen als Docker Images auf dem Familienserver, das hat mir ein bisschen reinfuchsen gut geklappt).

Die Sache mit Star Wars ist abhängig von deinen Ansprüchen: alle Daten aus OggDude da reinzaubern und ne Crit Table zu machen dauert vielleicht 30 Minuten? Maximal 60.
Das Problem ist halt, dass es dann nur die bare bones sind, also keine schicken Bilder diverser Blastermodelle etc. Sondern halt wirklich nur die Daten.

Auf der anderen Seite stört uns das nicht, von daher sind wir happy in der Gruppe.

Ein Riesen Vorteil von foundry gegenüber Roll20 ist neben der Performance auch die Datenverwaltung. Ich bin bei Roll 20 regelmäßig wegen fehlenden Bulk Uploads ausgerastet, die Handout-Infrastruktur bei Roll20 ist für mich ne Katastrophe gewesen. Finde ich bei foundry alles besser und intuitiver.


Und ich habe gestern die erste Runde mit den Warhammer Fantasy Modul abgeschlossen. Die 15 Euro für den Premium Content habe ich mir gegönnt und Holy Moly, das ist genial gut, das Modul!

Danke für die Antwort.
Ich bin allerdings auch schon gescheitert die Daten von oggdendude in seinen Charaktereditor reinzubekommen.
Ich habe absolut keine Ahnung wie ich die Dateien da reinkriege, also bei foundry.
Zur Not müsste ich das dann per cool/Paste aus einem pdf reinfummeln. Das bekomme ich hin.
Welche Server sind den empfehlenswert?

Kann man, wenn man die Daten aus oggdude in foundry eingefügt hat, die Charaktere auch in foundry erstellen oder sollte man sich oggdude auch installieren?

Ok.
Ich habe eine Frage wegen der Auflösung.
Foundry benötigt eine gewisse sonst ist es abgeschnitten.
Ist das für Spieler schlimm wenn sie einen Link von mir bekommen? Sprich sie können es gar nicht starten.
Nicht alle bei uns machen das am Bildschirm sondern evtl. auch am Laptop.

Nein, Forge hat Server in den USA, Europa und Ostasien. Darüber hinaus ein verteiltes System im Verbund, so daß man immer zum besten verfügbaren Server geleitet wird. Man muß bei Forge deshalb auch angeben, in welcher Region man die Server nutzen will.
Performanceerfahrungen bisher: Exzellent.

4,50 EUR: 1 Foundrylizenz, 1 aktiv zugänglicher Spielraum (mehrere Räume sind natürlich möglich, aber der Link führt immer zum aktiven bzw. zuletzt aktiven).
8,50 EUR: 1 Foundrylizenz, parallel zugängliche Spielräume mit eigenen Links.

Mal ein Update:
Ich hab das Spiel eingerichtet und alles reingepackt. Hat alles ohne Probleme geklappt.
Einige Module hab ich jetzt auch geladen, mal schauen was da noch gebraucht wird. Hab mich erstmal an JS Liste orientiert und was mir so instinktiv interessant fand.
Insgesamt gefällt es mir sehr gut.
Macht für Star Wars jetzt alles was ich bis jetzt brauche.
