Airport Express von Apple - hat da wer Erfahrung mit?
Technik ganz einfach:
Das Teil klemmt man an die Stereoanlage und dann kann man mit Apples iTunes Software MP3 und andere Audio auf der Stereoanlage abspielen. Der Airport ExPress hat eine WLan Anbindung und auch eine LAN (100 Mbit).
Meine Unklarheit:
Kann ich das Teil auch über den LAN füttern?
Ich habe nämlich 50 cm neben meiner Anlage im Wohnzimmer eine 100 MBit Dose.
Wäre ja dämlich, wenn ich jetzt WLAN nehmen müsste.
In den Artikeln wirbt Apple aber immer nur mit der WLan anbindung und ich habe gelernt, dass wenn ein amerikanisches Unternehmen eine Feature nicht umwirbt, das Feature nicht existiert.
Andererseits macht die Existenz der 100 MBit RJ45 Buchse gar keinen Sinn, wenn es nicht geht.
Also? Muss ich WLAN haben oder kann ich auch ganz normal über Netzwerkkabel das Teil ansprechen?
Und wenn keiner Ahnung hat - Wo muss ich diese Frage stellen um Antwort zu bekommen?

AirTunes over a wired network
If you have a fully-wired network, or you have your music stored on a desktop without a wireless card, you can still use the Express to stream music to your stereo. Apple does not cover this option in the instruction manual, but after a bit of fishing about with the AirPort Admin Utility, I was able to get that working as well.
First you will need to have the Express set up as a bridge. After changing the configuration, I connected the Express to the stereo and my network via the Ethernet jack. I then opened up the AirPort Admin Utility and selected Configure Your Base Station. Clicking on the AirPort tab gave me a Base Station Options button. After clicking that button, I found an "Enable AirTunes over Ethernet" option. Once I saved the configuration information, streaming over the wired network worked like a charm.
One drawback of the Express is that there is no remote control or status display, so unless you are in front of a computer, there is no way to see what song is playing, start or stop the music, or control the order in which tracks are played. Obviously, you can set up playlists or use the iTunes Party Shuffle to select the music you want to stream, but that is a less than optimal solution at times. It would not be surprising to see Apple release an add-on, or more likely, see third-party remote controls appear on the market.
