http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/machineage/farewell-to-fear-a-progressive-post-fantasy-rpg

Farewell to Fear is our "Progressive Post-Fantasy Roleplaying Game". What do we mean by that? Fantasy’s full of all sorts of legacy concepts that are rather disgusting to us; sexism, classism, racism, institutional violence, those are just a few choice items. Farewell to Fear is a game about revolution, about taking fantasy out of the dark ages through drive and action.

Think punk rock meets fantasy. Bad Religion meets Tolkien, boot to face

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/playattentiongames/curse-the-darkness-a-roleplaying-game

curse the darkness is a roleplaying game set in a post-apocalyptic version of our world.

The World

In 2012, a mysterious, unnamed individual conquered the world, leveling cities and destroying institutions of finance, religion, nationality and other ideology. He demanded that the people of the world take care of each other, with no promise of reward in the afterlife and no monetary compensation. Anyone who dissented and tried to hold on to their ideological identity was executed. The man wielded a force that no one on Earth could match - the creatures from the Between.

The Between is the place behind shadows, and it connects every shadow on the planet. While the man who destroyed the world isn't the only one capable of accessing the Between (in fact, your character can be an Opener if you'd like!), He does seem to be the only one with the ability to control the monsters therein. He sent these monsters out after anyone still clinging to religion, national identity, politics or economics, and those people were either killed on the spot or dragged into the Between, never to be seen again.

It's been 10 years. Over the ensuing decade, His oversight has grown less stringent, to the point that expressing one's faith or beliefs isn't quite so dangerous anymore. The people living in this world gather together in small, often mobile communities, doing their best to take care of themselves and each other. But some people just aren't interested in helping, and seek to take what they need. Some people tempt fate by trying to bring back religious worship or commerce, or other overt forms of ideology.

And some people still feel, even after so much death and destruction, that it's possible to win back the world.

The System

curse the darkness uses an original game system based around playing cards. Unlike many RPGs, it doesn't have a skill list or a complicated system for resolving combat and other situations. Instead, players undertake two kinds of Challenge: Character and Removal.

A Character Challenge helps define the character, and resolves an action that doesn't carry a risk of death or removal from the story. Character Challenges are based on one of four Attributes, each corresponding to a suit of cards: Focus (Diamonds), Stability (Clubs), Stamina (Spades) and Humanity (Hearts).

A Removal Challenge happens when the characters enter a situation that might lead to one or more of them being taken out of the game. Removal Challenges aren't based on the four Attributes, but on the characters' actions within the context of the situation. Characters in curse the darkness can and do die, much more easily than in many other RPGs.

The death of a character, however, can spur the survivors on to accomplishing their goal. When a character dies or leaves play, the others can gain Memory Points from that loss, and use those to find the inner fire to finish the scenario. Of course, the players also each have the option to refuse to fight, to be simply swept along by events.

Everything in the game, then, comes down to this essential choice: light a candle, or curse the darkness?

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1806414228/steampunk-musha-victoriental-adventures

What is Steampunk Musha?

Imagine an island, cut off from the rest of the world by a series of treacherous coral reefs. Imagine that the island was plagued by a war that lasted hundreds of years, only to be divided into provinces ruled by warlords. Imagine that as technology improved and advanced in the world outside, the island has remained much the same as it has always been. Now imagine that foreigners have brought the outside world to that island, and things have changed forever…This is the island of Rosuto-Shima, a place torn between honoring the old traditions and embracing new technology. The rulers of Rosuto-Shima’s eleven provinces have turned from open warfare to quiet competition, racing to develop improved technologies that will solidify and build the power of their province. It is a time of renaissance in Rosuto-Shima, but also a time of darkness. As more and more people turn to the new ways, the old ways are forgotten, and the old gods are not pleased. Unlike traditional fantasy settings, Steampunk Musha draws on East Asian mythology and history and combines aspects of several cultural traditions along with Victorian-era technology. The traditional Oriental setting is thrown into a roaring industrial age, where incredible new inventions contrast with ancient mysteries and restless spirits. High fantasy and science fiction clash and combine in the middle of the conflict between old and new, father and son, mechanical and spiritual.

The history of Steampunk Musha

Steampunk Musha was created by professional illustrator Rick Hershey (Art Director for Adamant Entertainment's Far West, Art Director for Fat Goblin Games, owner of Empty Room Studios) over 8 years ago as a collection of all the content he wanted in his "dream" adventure game.

Knowing he needed someone who could actually turn his notes into readable content, Rick teamed up with the amazing Alana Joli Abbott (Serenity Adventures, Cowboys & Aliens II, Chronicles of Ramlar) who took those notes and built the amazing, complex, exciting, and dangerous world of Steampunk Musha.

Over the years many more writers would join the group and contribute their own material to the lands, people, places, and creatures of the island of Rosuto-Shima. And in those years many attempts were made to make that wonderful setting into a tabletop adventure game. but one thing held it back. . .

Rick Hershey. With over 500 pages of content created describing the setting, classes, races, and it's rich history, Rick wasn't happy with the various rule systems available. He felt that the setting was being compromised to fit these systems, and it wasn't the vision he had for the setting or it's game play.

Steampunk Musha Now!

Working closely with Fat Goblin Games co-owner and veteran game designer, Jason Stoffa, Steampunk Musha is ready to see completion and present it's incredible setting to the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game.

Steampunk Musha will be in full color and design by the Fat Goblin Team. It will include full details on 8 playable races, 8 new classes, new feats and skills, new magic systems, tons of equipment (including magic and steampunk gear), details on the setting, and tons of variant rules.

We will also be developing the Rosuto Shima Campaign Guide, which will give even more details on the 12 provinces, introduce numerous npcs, adventure hooks, and more variant rules for players. This is the ultimate guide to the setting.

And last, the Steampunk Musha Bestiary. Covering dozens of new creatures, spirits, oni, and mechanical creations roaming the world of Rosuto-Shima. How can you go wrong from the minds behind www.creaturedaily.com?

And if we reach our goal we have a ton of amazing milestone rewards to offer! Bonus material to show our gratitude for your support!

Low Life - The Whole Hole: Ein Ergänzungsband zum dem SaWo-Setting "Low Life" von Andy Hopp.

I am not convinced.

Welcome to Mortiston, USA: An All American Zombie Apocalypse im Grunde ein Game-Setting.

Westward : A Steampunk Western Roleplaying Game

The Past: Humanity has left Earth centuries ago on a one-way trip in search of new life, to start over on a new world.  Most of the travelers did not survive, but those who lived, found a new home on a massive, alien world. They named it Westward, as it spins in a polar opposite direction of Earth…

Now! This is when you arrive on Westward. Three hundred-forty three years after the first colonists crash-landed, Westward is rife with hostilities, from dangerous wildlife to scant resources.  While the colonists started with advanced technologies, they quickly realized the need to reverse engineer their ideas to adapt to a new world. Despite all their technological knowledge, much of Humanity lives in rural and badland settings. Everyday, these people struggle for survival and are barely able to produce enough food.

http://www.indiegogo.com/ImagiNation

Intro

I am James 'Grim' Desborough. I've worked in the RPG industry for some time now as both a freelancer and as a self publisher through Postmortem Studios.
I suffer from depression.
Many creative people suffer from depression and it is a massive drain on your energy, willpower and your capacity to work, produce, make a living, get on with your friends and family and to deal with the everyday slings and arrows that life throws at you.
But it also seems to fuel your creativity.
I want to channel my problems, and those of so many others that I know, into a game that addresses and examines these problems in a fun way. One that can make people with depression and other problems feel empowered and capable. One that can raise awareness - to coin a horrible phrase.

To reach the most people and to provide the most help I want to give this away for free, but I just can't afford to do that, ironically because of the depression. The artists and other contributors I will call upon also suffer from the same problems and deserve to be paid for their efforts as well.
If we reach the funding goal that is all the money I will need to make this happen and I will be able to give the PDF version of the book for free and to sell the print version at cost via print on demand

The Game
ImagiNation is set after a psychic catastrophe has swept the British Isles. The mainland has been twisted and corrupted by a psychic virus that causes people's dreams and fancies to become concrete, real, within the zone of effect.
The refugees from this disaster are encamped upon the smaller islands around Britain, a thin stretch of water away from the chaos and disaster. A rump of government and military force contributing to a cordon and desperately looking for some solution.
The only people that can enter the zone and come out unharmed are those who are already mad, already damaged, already on the edge, creative people.
The rules will be story/description based and derived from those used for the Neverwhere fan RPG.
Players will play artists, writers, poets, singers and the mentally unstable who are able to use their skill to warp the unreality of the mainland and resist its effects while they look for answers - and wonders.

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/froggodgames/rappan-athuk

Rappan Athuk, the legendary mega-dungeon by Necromancer Games is nothing more and nothing less than a good, old–fashioned, First Edition dungeon crawl updated for the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game and the Swords & Wizardry rules. Very difficult, Rappan Athuk will truly strike fear into the hearts of the most stalwart adventurers. It offers legions of inventive traps, tricks, strange features, and monsters -- many of them never before seen. It affords numerous opportunities for roleplaying, but anyone willing to brave these subterranean halls better arrive ready to rumble, or their lives will be short indeed.

[...]
Rappan Athuk will be a faux leather-bound, signature stitched book (textbook bound for a lifetime of durability) with either a red cover (for the Swords & Wizardry version) or black cover (for the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game). The book includes:

17 new levels (topping over 50 levels) with many revisions to the existing levels
A number of lower level areas (character levels 1-10) including the village of Zelkor's Ferry and its surrounding environs
A Temple of Tsathogga with a three level dungeon of its own
2 New Prestige Classes and a New Archtype (Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Version Only)
27+ New Monsters
3 New Monster Templates
5+ New Artifacts
30+ New Magic Items (including some old favorites)
The return of Bill Webb's favorite spell from the Relics and Rituals days as an ability!
29+ miniature-scale battlemaps (detailing 10+ separate locations) provided for iconic locations and key encounter areas

and more!

Zitat
I do not intend to churn out 200, 300, 400+ page hardcover RPG books with full color, full page art from today's top fantasy artists. Rather, I intend to produce a number of smaller format RPG books that explore and offer a number of different playstyles. Most books would probably range from 64 to 128 pages. In addition to softcover format, it is possible to consider hardcover formats depending on interest and pricing. PDF versions of the products would also be produced and made available.
If you're familiar with the indie RPG scene and concepts, I'm looking more toward producing work like Life with Master, Dogs in the Vineyard, Best Friends Forever, InSpectres, and Meddling Kids rather than Mouse Guard, Eclipse Phase, Godlike, or Hollow Earth Expeditions.
[...] I currently have approximately 10 RPG games "simmering" at the moment. Some are in fairly detailed states and could be developed into playtestable PDF versions rather quickly. Others are in looser format, or encompass grander ideas that would require more content.

Deadlands Noir - Deadlands im New Orleans von 1935 (mit SW-Regeln).

New Orleans, 1935. Whoever called this the Big Easy sure got that one wrong. Things are tough all over. Honest work is hard to find, and even dishonest jobs are getting scarce. The one thing that’s not in short supply is trouble. From shady thugs to crooked cops to Mafia soldiers, there’s plenty of characters out there looking to give an honest Joe a hard time.

And that’s not the worst of it.

There are stories going round about things that go bump in the night. Things you wouldn’t want to meet in a dark alley on a darker night. And those stories aren’t just coming from rummies or saps who read that Epitaph rag.

Still, there are a few heroes left in the concrete jungle. Steely-eyed private dicks, fast-talking grifters, wild-eyed inventors, and shadowy houngans still struggle against the encroaching darkness. With enough moxie—and more than a little luck—they might just be enough to turn the tide.

Deadlands Noir is a pen-and-paper roleplaying game set in the world of Pinnacle Entertainment’s award-winning Deadlands universe. It includes new Edges, Hindrances, and powers, as well as new rules for handling detective work, the state of the Union and the CSA in the Depression-era, a complete Plot Point campaign, and of course, more monsters and ghouls than you can shake a smoking .45 automatic at.

August.

Zitat
1. RocketHub is not an investment or charity. It is an exchange: funds from fans for rewards from me.
2. It's an All & More funding mechanism: if I don't reach my financial goal I get to keep what I raise. But if I do reach my goal, I get access to exciting opportunities.

Wenn man Curse mit 15$ und Our Last Best Hope mit 10$ unterstützt kriegt man zusätzlich ein Curse of Darkness / Our Last Best Hope Playset.

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/traveller5/traveller-5th-edition

This is Traveller’s 35th year, and Marc has worked for several years on what he calls the Ultimate Edition: Traveller5. It includes so many things that players have asked for, or that have been imperfectly handled previously. In fact, Marc recently said there are now systems and chapters that he didn’t know how to design way back then. But he does now, and they are included. T5 has technology beyond TL 15, clones, robots, computers, artificial intelligence, QREBS (!), alien senses, Flux. It has a whole series of easy-to-use Makers: GunMaker, VehicleMaker, ArmorMaker, RobotMaker, SophontMaker, ThingMaker. It includes mapping of star systems and worlds; there's ever the MOARN caveat: Map Only As Really Necessary, or referees would spend all their time just making maps of worlds and systems. There's a rationalized section on Psionics, and more, much more.
